At the end, we had 3 classifiers (Bianca, Jacqueline, and myself: Yara) that did all the morphology classfication (except for a few that Jacqueline miessed, but not many), and also we had some classifications from Maria (a few in each cluster) and from Marc (only did HI galaxies).
I've combined all those classifications into a unique morphology that has 3 important pieces of information: 1 is the general morphology type, another is the degree of interaction (if any) and the last is the confidence of the morphology value (trust)
You can download the tables here: final_morphs_for_wiki.tar.gz
the tables have the following colums:
You probably only need the columns I've highlighted….
If you are looking for merger/interacting galaxies, then select those with morph = 4 or interaction = 9
i) Which galaxies were selected for the morphological examination?
the same selection as for spectroscopy except for:
ii) What are the main combined classifications?
1 = Elliptical
2 = S0 (or disky early-type, as it is very hard to tell)
3 = Spiral: a late-type disk galaxy
4 = Irregular
5 = Unclassifiable (e.g. too compact)
6 = There is not a galaxy
n6 = when only 1 classifier thought there was interaction/merger
n9 = when 2 or more classifiers thought there was an interaction/merger
iii) What are the final “main morphology type” and “interaction level” numbers?
the combined morphology is as described below, sometimes it can be for example = 39 (i.e. interacting spiral), so it might be more useful to have it separatelly as main morph = 3 and interaction=9
iv) How did you calculate the trust?
I did it that way for Bianca+Jacqueline+me but then by eye I also included Maria's and Marc's morphologies and changed the trust using a similar reazoning!
